+frequently we ignored our love but we never could mistake it

gosh. i never want to do a reflection post just because it's the end of a season and the start of another one, but whatever, here it goes. lots of thoughts, so they've got to come out somewhere. i just read taylor's last entry and i don't know if it's just her wonderful writing or if it's the knowledge that i've been a part of (seemingly) every day of her last year that gets me.

to know that there are a small handful of people in my life who literally know what i've been doing every day for the entire past year is ridiculous to me. ridiculous in a great way. in a way that it's apparent that they have worked on me and i feel so comfortable that i'm okay with giving parts of me away. how can it get any deeper? i don't even have a clue! but i know it can. and that's amazing.

9 months ago: i left student life camp and joined the heron hall staff. i was sad and i didn't think i would have any connections left at belmont. i was ready to start all over but i knew that God was really the only one that could sustain me through this transition. God answers prayers and gave me three women that haven't left my side since those hot august nights.

8 months ago: joy joined my sorority along with so many girls who changed my view on the group and what we were about. it was pretty surreal and so satisfyingly exciting to be a part of again!

6 months ago: henry proposed to sharon. finally. when you know two people are meant to be together, it's so exciting to see those plans start to really take shape.

5 months ago: christmas break brought me amanda from camp and a time of relaxation. God and i got to hang out more than we had and he showed me how vital relationships are in my life. he showed me that real friends at home mean a ton and i literally don't know how i got so lucky.

4 months ago: i began my 'amazing' internship at the tennessee state legislature. and spent the majority of the first 3-4 weeks in tears before i went to sleep every night. miserable is an understatement. i got the flu and further realized that the people you need in your life will be there by your side as you throw up? pleasant thought. i know.

3 months ago: i made a friend out of nowhere that has slowly but surely become one of the rocks of my life. i threw a prom for my floor and my residents started teaching me (instead of the other way around) about college and life

1 month ago: i had never felt more encouraged, appreciated, and loved by the people who were extremely close and knew me well. i learned that it's okay to be loved. that i don't have to downplay it. (still learning and loving all of this).

and that brings us up to speed.
lucky. that's how i'll always feel.
i'm excited about being in kennedy this summer. in nashville.
i'm excited about being in thrailkill this fall. with all my girls again!
i'm excited about the people who make my life worth the living.
and i'm excited that God knows what he's doing. every step. of all of this.
