+there is no easy way--no matter what I do someone gets hurt

and they say life can get routine. by mistake i did closer to 40. what was i thinking?
and now i stand at this crossroads and i've sorted through all the evidence. i've heard the alibis and i know the case well. i know the jury. i can tell you the story backwards and forwards. the hard part is knowing the judge so well that you know your case is going to lose. everyone's gotta lose sometimes. that still doesn't make it hurt less. sara groves once wrote, "i knew it all along that this day was coming, even though i knew it doesn't hurt any less. but somehow the suffering draws me to You. i could start running anger, but then what's the point of a savior?"

from now on, when three friends say "wait a second..." i'm going to actually listen.
"you deserve to be so much more than the reliable, super great friend. it feels safe, but then it hurts. and i don't like seeing you hurt." (TP)
